The Museum of the City of New York is a real treasure at the top of Museum Mile. The current exhibit, “The Greatest Grid: The Master Plan of Manhattan, 1811-2011,” is an incredible look at what went in to turning Manhattan into the place it is today. Most interesting, I thought, were the hand-drawn maps of all of the original property lines, pre-grid.
